Current Vacancies
We currently have a vacancy for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, specialising in supporting pupils with SEN such as autism, ADHD, PDA and ODD. This post is a part-time position for approximately 9 hours per week.
Post commencing ASAP.

We have a strong reputation in the local community. Slimbridge is steadily growing with 141 pupils on roll. We have 5 classes in total, as well as an on-site nursery.
We are looking to recruit a capable and committed Teaching Partner to work with high needs pupils with EHCPs across all age ranges throughout the school, the candidate must be able to work with pupils who have autism, ADHD, PDA and ODD, from nursery through to year six. The successful candidate will be able to respond effectively to the needs of young people with SEN and assist their learning and development. They will have high ambitions and set stretching targets, ensuring that the children with SEN get the precise support they need.
This post will suit candidates who are passionate about SEND and inclusion and who are flexible, creative, caring and committed to providing the best learning opportunities for all. This candidate will be flexible and hardworking and able to work with individuals on a bespoke curriculum, lead small group intervention sessions for pupils, as well as support individual pupils with additional needs in and out of the classroom.

• a happy, family atmosphere with united staff teams • experienced and committed colleagues who support and value every professional in the school • professional development to support your career development • direct support from an experienced SENCo • an exceptional learning environment in which to work • wonderful children who love to learn and thrive from exciting opportunities • the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children who need a great teaching partner We are looking for someone who: • has proven classroom experience • is focused on helping children to achieve targets and secure progress • has confidence when working with students on a 1:1 or small group basis and assisting the class teachers where necessary e.g. leading groups and providing short-term cover • can establish strong relationships with children whilst setting firm boundaries • is passionate about working with children with special educational needs • is sensitive to the social and emotional implications of each child • is supportive and keen to work as a part of a dedicated team • aspires to be exceptional in their practice • has a level 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent • has a good understanding of the National Curriculum • Is able to work independently and within a team • has experience of working with high needs SEND pupils with autism, ADHD, ODD and PDA. • shows initiative and is able to adapt activities to suit the needs of the children
This role involves working with children who have social and emotional difficulties that impact on their ability to engage with, and access, learning. Full training and support from the SENCo and other agencies will be provided.
You will work in partnership with teachers within and across classes and in close collaboration with the SENCO as deployed by the Headteacher to raise the learning and attainment of all pupils, including those with any identified special education need including EHCPs whilst also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. |
